Our beautiful Hudson river?

Henry Hudson had the right idea when he cruised up the river that now bares his name. You wouldn't believe what Hurricane Irene left behind. We are cruising at a slower pace because of all the logs and varius items floating past us. Jim looked out our window and said it was so cold that there were iceburgs floating by. I looked out and it was white chunks of stuff...plastic containers and bottles. Loads of them...as well as logs and various unidentifiable objects. Scary! Meanwhile the miles are clicking by. Hopefully by next spring our beautiful Hudson River will return to its prior pristine condition. We are now looking forward to our trip past NYC. It looks so much different from the water still with the same hustle and the crowded harbor but what a beautiful trip. Stay tuned, we have only started.

First day

The adventure begins, two miles out it starts raining. Typical for a start of a 7 month vacation. We decided to stop in Waterford until it cleared up. Then we had a nice cruise through Albany. The USS Slater looked great in all her glory with lots of people taking a tour of the last and only WW2 era Destroyer escort still afloat. We decided to stop at Coeymans Landing for the night. Looking forward to another day, hopefully less rain. Many more miles, and sunsets to come. Life is good at 7 knots.

SNOWBIRD PENNANT

With so many boats passing our marina, we don't know if they are out enjoying a beautiful day on the water, or heading to a warmer climate for the winter. This is our answer to that question: A "SNOWBIRD PENNANT". Its guaranteed to be waterproof, won't fray or fade in the summer sun. Its easily available at your local hardware store and on sale a Wal-mart in the spring.
We raised our flag this morning, and will head south until someone ask what it is. Then we know we have travelled far enough. Tks, Capt. Bill

Where did the summer go?

Now we are just waiting out the wet weather, and then heading south. Boat is packed, house is ready. Dog (Daisy) is anxious.
